Actress Elizabeth Banks Poses for Carlo Allegri Photo Shoot

Elizabeth Banks starred in this year's hottest movie The Hunger Games ,but she did not always have great experiences on set.In an interview with Slate,Elizabeth Banks was asked about her worst film experience, and she talked about the filming of her first role in the indie dark comedy, Surrender Dorothy.

"Really early on, I did this one film -- I think it's called Surrender Dorothy, I'm not even sure anymore -- and I just remember I had met the guy who was going to be the lead in the movie and then, right before we started shooting, that guy got a 'real job', and went to do some real job,"She said.Since the film’s lead stepped down from the role, there was a crunch to find a new protagonist. That’s when the film’s writer/director, Kevin DiNovis, stepped in to take over."The writer/director played the lead role as well. There was no one else to do it! He wasn't a real actor.I'm shocked and deeply hurt by Ms. Banks' comments, and confused as to how she could consider her first break -- in Hollywood or anywhere -- as a career mistake," DiNovis told The Hollywood Reporter, in response to Banks’ comments.

Despite the bad time she experienced shooting Dorothy, Banks is still thankful for it. “I’m really grateful about those experiences because they teach you a lot about the business,” she said.Banks can currently be seen in The Hunger Games with Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. Her next role is alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which hits theaters on May 18.
